Building in Public – An Article Writer for Smart People

Why do you need yet another article writer? I hear you wonder.

I have a couple of reasons why this would be a worthwhile project for us.

Two reasons why I’m building this

1. The Bolt.new hackathon

Bolt.new, the prompt-to-code platform, is running a month-long hackathon. I’m participating in it.

I’ve been toying with custom GPTs, multiple chat LLMs as they’ve evolved in the last few months. I also see a near future where AI will have become an integral part of our lives (just like computers and smartphones and the Internet).

So it’s useful to learn some skills around it.

Bolt.new offered AI credits through this Hackathon (which is free to participate) and some third-party services that help with the app development.

That was enough of an incentive for me to participate.

Now, the second reason.

2. This tool will help us show up smartly

I’m a professional content and copywriter. You see, AI’s first impact was on my profession. Writing projects stopped coming by, existing projects faced a pay cut, and clients were happy with ChatGPT output!

No good! Not kind for folks like me!!

I tried several article writers in the past. I didn’t like them for the most part.

They throw heavy walls of text at the reader, without a concern for readability, their busyness or humaneness. It is utterly disrespectful.

Articles should be informative of course, but they also need to be readable, fun to read and relatable. Which none of the article writers I know have cracked properly.

So…

I developed a specific workflow that helps me create high-quality articles fast. High-quality articles are not only informative, they are readable, show great style and are enjoyable. The writing is the easier part.

The thing is – the entire worfklow is manual. I have to jump through a couple of AI tools one by one.

I thought it will be fun to build a tool that condenses the entire worfklow to a single click.

The AI will learn about your business, your competitors, your existing content all automatically and then write the article.

It will also be fun to read, with one or two personal anecdotes thrown in for good measure.

The reader won’t flinch away after starting to read the article. It will reel them in with a near human-like writing quality that’s endearing and relatable.

That’s what I’m aiming at. I want us to show up smartly when publish articles.
